RECYCLING

RECYCLING

Why recycle electronics, equipment, and metals?

Recycling conserves our natural resources. Proper recycling also means that hazardous chemicals and materials contained within the electronics & equipment are properly disposed of instead of leaching into the environment.

What happens to recycled electronics & equipment?

The salvageable components of recycled electronics equipment are saved for future re-use. The hazardous waste is stored properly before it is responsibly disposed of. We take care to ensure safety and security during the entire recycling process. Electronics and equipment that do not qualify for reuse are disassembled or shredded and sorted into commodities. Commodities are then sent to smelters and mills where they are turned into new stock.

What electronics & equipment are accepted?

We accept almost anything electronic and most equipment. If you’re unsure about a particular device, contact us.

Why is it important that you process electronic waste in-house?

Processing electronic waste in our Goffstown, NH facility means that you can be sure the electronics are treated properly. Some companies will blindly ship your e-waste overseas where the safety guidelines are not as strict — meaning that toxins can be released into the air and contribute to pollution.

What happens to data on my recycled devices?

If you are looking for guaranteed data destruction, contact us about our secure data destruction services.

What if I need my electronics or equipment recycled, and not reused?

There are many reasons why a customer may require that their items are not reused. For example: RMA’s, prototypes, national security, government contracts. Aurum is set up to handle such arrangements and will provide Certificates of Recycling or Destruction stating that the customers material has been properly recycled and or destroyed. If this is the case with material that you are sending to Aurum, please be sure to communicate that when you call, so we can ensure that your wishes are met.
